First Steps. (Monday Moments #10)

Mother and father were sitting on the couch enjoying their afternoon tea. They thought that it was just another relaxed Sunday until the time they saw their baby. She had started crawling a few weeks ago and there was no stopping her. She had crawled to every space in their apartment. The parents had to run after her and stop her from eating anything that was in her sight. But it was different that day. That day, as she was crawling, she reached to their coffee table. The parents were oblivious. And then with the support of the table, she stood up. She started laughing as if she knew she had accomplished something great. As her parents caught her standing up for the first time, they were thrilled. They were so full of joy and pride. There was no feeling quite like it. As they saw their baby doll standing up and laughing her angelic smile, they were caught in her magical gaze. The mother thought, "It's so soon and she's already standing. How did time fly so fast?" The father was also lost in thought, "Now she has started standing up. Soon she'll grow up. Then she'll go away with her husband. This is so fast." When they both looked at each other they instantly knew what the other was thinking and a smile came on their face along with a tiny teardrop. At that moment, the baby girl left the support at took a step towards them. Then, a few more. When she was about to reach, she almost fell down. Her father's strong arms and her mother's caring hands were there to catch her before she fell. In that moment, they were the loveliest and happiest family. At that moment, the parents realised how precious their girl is. That moment was the start of a new beginning. As they were talking about this, she stood up again and laughed just like before. That moment was so pure that nothing could take it away.

(‘Monday Moments’ is a blog series wherein I write about an incident or a moment in a short paragraph. It’s not a story, but just a short description to express and explore the most common joys and also the uncommon miseries.)
